I have no idea where June went... but we went to Marrakech for a few days...

My favourite place on earth- the first time I went I felt I had at last found home
We walked...

We did tourist type stuff...
(the menara garden pavillion)

We walked some more...
we talked about the storks that live on the rampart walls...

we didn't ride camels...

we met some lovely people...

and we shopped in the souks...

it has to be done...

we went to the Djemma el fna at night and ate tajines at the street stalls and roasted almonds from the carts...

We saw fabulous Berbers in their bright blue clothes...

and we didn't get too close to the snake charmers...

We ate here... absolute heaven on earth! Then before we knew it we were on our way home, tired, relaxed, happy...

Back at home I got a parcel... which contained lots of little parcels all beautifully wrapped...

It was my boudoir swap from Jackie! Lots of lovely, lovely girly things! all smelling gorgeous! Thank you so much Jackie x

and of course we have had this little man to look after...

So, sorry I haven't been about- but June has gone by in a blur!!

I am going to take a short blogging break to work on a little project, I will tell more as soon as I can- promise! I will try to pop by as often as I can.

Don't forget me while I am gone... Jxx

Promise this morning finding his feet...

Over the weekend the circle of his world has got gradually bigger

on Friday and Saturday he stayed very close to mum and took things quite slowly

It's hard to have control of brand new legs

...and really much more tiring than you might expect

Close to mummy is the very best place

But today he is coming on leaps and bounds- still close to mummy but the circle is getting bigger

"Mummy what are you doing? You are going to get all muddy!"

"Right, I'm off to practice showjumping..."

Just so long as mummy is close to hand if I need her- that chambermaid human creature isn't that bad either but I can't get any milk out of the teat in the middle of her face

On the home front the rain has done the grass a power of good

and I'm very excited about my latest bargain- maybe I will be able to sew on this one- if not it is nice to look at for 99p!!

Once upon a time there was a lovely boy called Moon Shadow.

He was a lovely cuddly handsom boy and he loved his wives, even if they didn't always love him. He was gentle and patient with them, liking to bring a little romance into what some stallions may have thought of as a chore...

And once the huffing and puffing was over with he liked a handful of pony nuts and a pat and a little snooze cuddled up to his human.

One day a new girl came along called Poppy. Shadow was besotted. Unfortunately Poppy wasn't- oh dear!

Naughty Poppy resisted Shadow's courting and played hard to get...

But after a little Shadow magic she came round to his way of thinking

And we are so pleased - because the result is...

Promise!

Summerwood Dragonfly Promises- is his official name but he will be Promise to his friends...

Born in the early hours of this morning, mum and baby doing fantastic!

There will be more photos- many more! I have 55 already!! You must tell me when you get fed up of them! But for now I have an afterbirth to find and check over- yuk!

Just thought you would like to see the new addition to our happy ever after family... Jx

Poppy is still refusing to pop!!

Darcy has got bored of waiting for her...

and the chickens are running a sweepstake on it being a phantom pregnancy!

After what seems like a year - but in fact is only a week... we are finally getting to see the results of some of our efforts, at least I hope we are...

Curtains are back up but we are still sofaless

Pictures are on the walls

my lovely new birthday print is framed and on the wall

even the biggest magnolia fan can get a bit fed up of it- but at least everywhere is beginning to look neat and clean- here's one I started earlier- if by the way you have a teenage daughter who is begging for Happy Purple on her bedroom wall- don't do it! It is the worst colour ever to cover!!

I agree with you about the lawn it is very sad and brown but at least this rain we are getting today is good for something - the garden is now flat and boring and newly seeded where it needs to be- MrP assures me that prospective buyers will look at it and think "easy to maintain"- I on the other hand look at it and think where are all the plants??
the pond filter has been cleaned and new plants put in, which the fish are trying their hardest to destroy!!

all the decking is scrubbed clean and lovely pots of flowers and herbs set out- the gaps in the lavender hedge have been filled with new plants

We just now need someone to buy it...
